2009 Summer Day Camp Program

Our program will be offered for ten (10) weeks during the summer on Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for children 6 to 12 years old. An Open House will be held at Lion’s Community Park on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Registration: Registration begins May 1, with a maximum of 20 campers per week due to bus limits. Campers are accepted on a first come, first serve basis and all payments are due in full the Monday before the week of camp.

Cost of Program: This year the program will be split into sections to better serve the families in our area.

     There is also a $10 registration fee per child for the first week of attendance.

Refunds: Refunds are available per week if handled prior to the Monday before the week of day camp, where an 80% refund will be given. No refunds are available the week before or the week of camp. If for some unforeseen reason Brimfield Township Parks & Recreation Department would cancel camp, it will be 100% refunded.

Food: Campers are to provide a labeled, packed lunch each day including drink and a refillable water bottle. Water will be available throughout the day. Morning and afternoon snack will be provided.

Place: The program will run from Lion’s Community Park located at 4484 Edson Rd. Monday through Thursday and from Kelso House 4158 State Route 43, on Fridays. This allows the campers to walk to the Brimfield Library as part of the weekly program.

Transportation: The campers will remain at the drop off location on Monday through Thursday. On Fridays the campers will walk to the Brimfield Library, Town Center Park, and Brimfield Elementary School playground during the day. Parta will pick up and drop off the campers from Kelso House for the Friday field trip.

Dress: Campers should dress for the weather outdoors wearing play clothes and tennis shoes. No sandals or flip flops. Each camper may also want to provide a large towel for lunch break, sunscreen and insect repellent. A book-bag or backpack is suggested for their belongings.

Staff: There will always be at least two adults with campers at all times, more on field trip days. The staff will be able to contact the Parks & Recreation Department or any necessary official at any time by phone. All staff is trained in First Aid, CPR and has passed a background check.

Each Monday a basic schedule of events for the week will be available for parents. Below you will find a typical Monday through Thursday schedule and a Field Trip Friday schedule.
